Does anyone have a running joke that is known by, and funny to, you alone? Or am I the only one?
Whenever I read anything about horoscopes, or am asked my sign, I think, Cancer... and my name is Larry. That's a line from an old song. I am not a Cancer, nor is my name Larry.
Anyway... I mentioned the red/orange Kersti that cut in line and jumped ahead of my other projects. Karma, baby: I frogged it. It was a v-neck, top-down thingy, and of course I didn't bother to try it on. I just knit like a crazy woman. I was about 2 inches from the end of the body when, just for laughs, I decided to try it on. It wasn't very funny: waaaay too big. Riiiiiiip. I should've realized when I was running out of yarn; a short-sleeved pullover doesn't need the same amount of yarn as a hooded cardigan. It is now frogged and reskeined and nicely put away until I can look at it again.
It is Kersti, after all. I can't stay mad at it for long.
I'm up to the armhole shaping on the Onde tank. It was going to be a 3/4 sleeve pullover, but I changed my mind. Tank. Okay, tunic. You know what? I really don't know what it's going to be; I'll be just as surprised as you when its off the needles. Whatever I'm making, the back's almost done.
It would actually be done, if it weren't for Klaralund. Yep, I was so enamored of the new pattern book my Secret Pal sent me, I dived into the Silk Garden hidden in the closet and went to town. I finished the back while watching Master and Commander. Did I like the movie? Eh. S'alright. I might've liked it better on the big screen. But, primo knitting movie.
I'm using the same shade of Silk Garden Em used for Tilt (color #88). I wasn't feeling so hot about the color at first, until I took it outside and saw it in daylight; much better. Once this is done, I want to start Williamsro. I spotted some cheap Cash Iroha on eBay, only I'm unsure about the color. Maybe I need to peek at it in person before ordering it online. A tad shady, but all's fair in love and yarn.
I'm wondering about a substitute for Cash Iroha. Blasphemy, I know... but I'm just wondering if there's anything out there remotely like it. Any ideas?
