A couple is on the train, filling out some kind of application.

Dude: Okay, what's it say here? Race? Why the fuck I gotta put down that I have a race? I'm not black.

Chick: That's just stupid. Why would they want you to put that?

Dude: Yeah! This is some stupid shit. They want me to put down that I'm black, and I'm not. What the fuck?

Chick: You know what? Leave it blank. And if they ask you, tell them that you don't have any race in you. They can't ask about that kind of shit anyway.

(At this point I cranked up the iPod. Too early in the morning for that kinda ridiculousness.)

Babykitty is a real biotech

Just thought I'd pop in and say hi, y'all. Been kinda busy. I'll say this: if I ever get my hands on enough money, I'm going to open a chain of childcare centers that are staffed by smart, caring people and that have hours which reflect the average working parent's hours. Because there may only be one or two such centers in the entire city, so I'd do very well if I opened one.

Do you know that I did not knit for a while? Nothing interested me. But a few days ago I picked up some laceweight (bought 2 years ago at Seaport Yarns) and started the Print O' the Wave stole. Fun, but not subway knitting. Not at all. For that, I think I may make striped socks out of leftover Koigu KPPPPPPM.

Anyway, the title of this post? Well... Cheburashka often plays with my digital camera, so I never know what I'll find on the memory card. Pictures of her eye, of her toys, and the occasional short movie (she knows more about the settings on my camera than I do). Yesterday I found this:

She wasn't hurt- it was just a swat. But I tell her time and time again: don't mess with Babykitty. For the most part she's a sweetie but when she's had enough, she can be a real biotech*.

*(No, I will never, ever tire of that.)
